Calibrachoa |
|
Calibrachoa, which is the
fancy name for the plant many call "Million Bells", is essentially a
trailing miniature petunia. They are extremely weather-tolerant, but
do require excellent drainage. Heaviest blooming occurs in late
spring, early summer and fall, but if they have a bit of shade
beneath the canopy of a mixed container, they can go all summer. Because of the drainage requirement, we hesitate to
recommend them for large-scale landscape planting, but they are charming
additions to smaller gardens and containers of any size. We have them
listed as annuals but they may behave as perennials with adequate
drainage. That means you can plant them in the fall and enjoy them then
as well. |
