Melampodium is a tough plant that may be a bit
slow to start in the spring, but once the weather warms in earnest, it
is a sturdy and fairly carefree addition to the garden or landscape.
It needs full sun to do its best, and will bloom profusely if happy.
All those blooms mean, however, that it has a tendency to re-seed. As
far as placement, while it has a lot of blooms, they are small, and so
Melampodium is best suited for walk-by beds; will have little impact at
55 mph. |
