very heat- and drought-tolerant

Excellent performer for our hot summers; wants full sun for best
blooming. Can tolerate dry conditions once established and is very
forgiving of a wilt, though repeated wilts may cause yellowing and loss of lower
leaves.

Star series
Spacing: 10-12" Height: 14-16"
Exposure: full sun to very light shade
A loyal
and reliable performer in our summer heat, and once established has
no problems with infrequent watering. Definitely close to the top of
the "Drought Tolerant Annuals" list, and works well in both
residential and commercial settings. The individual flowers
are fairly small, but what was the Shakespeare quote from the movie
"Seabiscuit"? Something like "Though he is small, he is fierce".
This plant, along with violas for the winter, fits that quote to a
tee. |
Blooming Season: late spring
through fall
Plant Habit: mounded,
spreading and a little sprawling at times |
